The Big Read

The Big Read 2003-yilda Buyuk Britaniyada BBC (talaffuzi Bi-bi-si) tomonidan oʻtkazilgan kitoblar boʻyicha soʻrov boʻlib, xalqning barcha davrlardagi eng sevimli romanini aniqlash uchun Britaniya jamoatchiligining toʻrtdan uch milliondan ortiq ovoz yigʻilgan^[1]^[2]. Bir yil davom etgan soʻrov bugungi kunga qadar ommaviy kitobxonlik didi boʻyicha eng katta yagona sinov boʻldi^[3] va mashhurlar tomonidan oʻzlarining sevimli kitoblarini targʻib qiluvchi bir nechta dasturlar bilan yakunlandi.

Maqsadi[tahrir | manbasini tahrirlash]

BBC Internet, SMS va telefon orqali tomoshabinlar tomonidan ovoz qabul qilish yoʻli orqali „Xalqning eng sevimli romani“ni aniqlash maqsadida The Big Read soʻrovnomasini boshladi. Mazkur soʻrovnoma adabiyotga goʻyoki sensatsion yondashuvni qoʻllagani uchun bahs-munozaralarga sabab boʻldi, biroq qoʻllab-quvvatlovchilar uni mutolaa boʻyicha jamoatchilik xabardorligini oshirayotganligi uchun maqtashdi.^[4] Britaniya jamoatchiligi dastlab oʻzlari xohlagan romanga ovoz berishdi.^[4] Shundan 200 tasining roʻyxati tuzilib, birinchi oʻrinda bitta muallifga faqat bitta kitobga ruxsat berilishi sharti bilan eng yuqori 21 tasi keyingi ovoz berish uchun qoʻyildi. Soʻrovnoma romanlarga asoslanganligi sababli, William Shakespearening pyesalari soʻrovda qatnashmadi.
