Gaiti Hasan (1956 yil 19-noyabrda tug'ilgan) - molekulyar biologiya, genetika, nevrologiya va hujayra signalizatsiyasi sohalarida tadqiqot olib boradigan hind olimi hisoblanadi. [1] Hasan Hindiston Milliy Fan Akademiyasining (INSA) a'zosi, hind olimlari va texnologlarining eng yuqori organlaridan biri. Hasan bolaligida Aligarxda o‘qigan. Uning ota-onasi universitetda dars bergan, ikki singlisi esa kimyo va fizika fanlaridan tahsil olgan bo'lib. [3] U 1976 yilda Dehli universitetining Miranda uyida zoologiya bo'yicha bakalavr darajasini oldi. U 1978 yilda hayot fanlari bo'yicha magistr darajasini va M.Fil. 1980 yilda Javoharlal Neru universiteti, Dehli. [1][3] 1983 yilda Kembrij universitetida Trypanosoma brucei ribosomali RNK genlari haqidagi dissertatsiyasi uchun fan nomzodi ilmiy darajasini oldi. [4] Hasanning soʻzlariga koʻra, u universitetlarga nomzodlik dissertatsiyasiga hujjat topshirayotganda “ozchilikka mansublik kamsitishlarga olib kelishi mumkinligini” ilk bor tushungan. Uning fikriga ko'ra, bu uni "boshqa ayol olimlarni, xoh talabalar, xoh hamkasblar bo'lsin, ongli ravishda qo'llab-quvvatlashga harakat qilishiga" olib keldi. [3]

Hozirda u NCBS ( Milliy Biologiya fanlari markazi ) [5] da ishlab kelmoqda, u erda hayvonlarda hujayra ichidagi kaltsiy darajasidagi o'zgarishlarning tizimli va hujayrali oqibatlarini o'rganadi. 1983 yilda Hasan Mumbaydagi Tata Fundamental Tadqiqotlar Institutiga (TIFR) tashrif buyuruvchi va molekulyar biologiya bo'limida ilmiy xodim sifatida qo'shildi. [1] U 1992 yilda Massachusetsdagi Brandeys universitetining biologiya boʻlimida tashrif buyurgan eng sara olimlardan biri boʻlgan [4]
