Ispaniya fuqarolik urushi (ispancha: guerra civil española) – 1936-yildan 1939-yilgacha respublikachilar va millatchilar oʻrtasida olib borilgan. Respublika tarafdorlari Ikkinchi Ispaniya Respublikasining chap qanotga moyil boʻlgan Xalq fronti hukumatiga sodiq boʻlganlar va ularning tarkibiga sotsialistlar, anarxistlar, kommunistlar hamda separatistlar kirgan[11]. Qarama-qarshi boʻlgan millatchilar esa Ispaniya davlatini (Estado Español) tashkil etgan boʻlib, fashistik falangistlar, monarxistlar, konservatorlar va anʼanachilar ittifoqidan iborat edi. Ularni Germaniyadagi natsistlar va Italiyadagi fashistlar qoʻllab-quvvatlagan. Unga harbiy xunta boshchilik qilgan. Unda general Francisco Franco tez orada ustun mavqega ega boʻlgan. Oʻsha davrdagi xalqaro siyosiy vaziyat sababli urush turlicha talqin qilingan: kimdir uni sinfiy kurash, boshqalar diniy kurash yoki diktatura bilan respublikachi demokratiya oʻrtasidagi kurash deb bilgan; yana boshqalar uni inqilob bilan qarshi inqilob yoki fashizm bilan kommunizm oʻrtasidagi toʻqnashuv sifatida koʻrgan. Millatchilar urushda gʻalaba qozonishgan[12]. Urush 1939-yil boshida yakunlangan va Ispaniyani Franco boshchiligidagi rejim 1975-yil noyabrigacha, yaʼni uning oʻlimigacha boshqargan.
Urush 1936-yil iyul oyida Xalq fronti hukumatiga qarshi Ispaniya Respublikasi qurolli kuchlari generallari guruhi tomonidan amalga oshirilgan davlat toʻntarishining qisman muvaffaqiyatsizlikka uchrashi natijasida boshlandi. Millatchilar fraksiyasi oʻng qanot guruhlaridan iborat boʻlib, ular orasida xristian anʼanachilari partiyasi CEDA, monarxistlar (shu jumladan, bir-biriga qarama-qarshi boʻlgan alfonsistlar va diniy konservativ karlistlar) hamda fashistik siyosiy partiya – Falange Española de las JONS mavjud edi. Shu bilan birga, hech bir muhim shaharlardagi qoʻzgʻolonchi boʻlinmalar hokimiyatni qoʻlga kirita olmadi, bu esa Ispaniyani harbiy va siyosiy jihatdan ikkiga boʻlib qoʻydi. Qoʻzgʻolonga qarshi kurashda chap qanot ijtimoiy harakatlar va partiyalar qurollantirildi, militsiyalar tuzildi. Bu esa respublika nazoratidagi hududlarda tezkor ijtimoiy-iqtisodiy va siyosiy oʻzgarishlarga olib keldi; ushbu jarayon keyinchalik Ispaniya inqilobi deb atalgan. Millatchi kuchlar Fashistik Italiya va Natsistlar Germaniyasidan oʻq-dori, askarlar va havo qoʻllovini oldilar, respublika tarafini esa Sovet Ittifoqi va Meksika qoʻllab-quvvatladi. Buyuk Britaniya, Fransiya va AQSh respublika hukumatini rasman tan olgan boʻlsalar-da, ular betaraflik siyosatini yuritishdi. Shunga qaramay, bu davlatlarning oʻzidan ham oʻn minglab fuqarolar bevosita urushda qatnashib, asosan respublika tarafini qoʻllab-quvvatlovchi Xalqaro brigadalar safida jang qilishgan.
Franco asta-sekin millatchilarning asosiy yetakchisiga aylandi. 1937-yilga kelib u Ispaniya davlatining diktatori boʻldi hamda falangizim gʻoyalarini oʻz siyosatiga qoʻshib oldi[13]. Millatchilar janub va gʻarbdagi tayanch hududlaridan oldinga siljib, 1937-yilda Ispaniya shimoliy sohilining katta qismini egallashdi. Ular Madrid va uning janubi hamda gʻarbida joylashgan hududlarni qamal ostiga oldilar. 1938—1939-yillarda Kataloniyaning katta qismi bosib olingach va Madrid Barselonadan uzilib qolganidan soʻng, respublikachilarning harbiy ahvoli butunlay achinarli tus oldi. 1939-yil 5-martda respublika hukumatidagi kommunistik taʼsirning tobora kuchayishi va harbiy vaziyatning yomonlashishi daʼvolariga javoban, polkovnik Segismundo Casado millatchilar bilan tinchlik oʻrnatish maqsadida respublika hukumatiga qarshi harbiy toʻntarish uyushtirdi. Biroq bu tashabbuslarni Franco rad etdi. Oʻsha yilning oʻzida, mart oyida, Madridda respublika ichidagi fraksiyalar oʻrtasida toʻqnashuvlar yuz berdi. Shundan soʻng Franco poytaxtga kirib keldi va 1939-yil 1-aprel kuni gʻalabasini eʼlon qildi. Respublika tarafdorlari bilan bogʻliq yuz minglab odamlar Ispaniyadan qochib, asosan Fransiyaning janubidagi qochoqlar lagerlariga joylashdilar[14]. Mamlakatda qolganlarning koʻpchiligi esa gʻalaba qozongan millatchilar tomonidan taʼqib va jazoga uchradi.
