Dominikan Respublikasining milliy madhiyasi (ispancha: Himno nacional de República Dominicana) José Rufino Reyes y Siancas (1835-1905) tomonidan bastalangan va uning soʻzlari Emilio Prud’Xomme (1856-1932) tomonidan yaratilgan.

Tarix

José Rufino Reyes y Siancas Parijning El Americano gazetasida Argentina davlat madhiyasini koʻrganidan soʻng, Dominikan Respublikasi uchun milliy madhiya yaratishdan ilhomlangan. 1883-yilda u oʻzining doʻsti Emilio PrudʼXomni madhiya matnini yozishga taklif qildi.

Prud’Homme madhiya soʻzlarining birinchi versiyasi 1883-yil 16-avgustda haftalik El Eco de la Opinion gazetasida chop etilgan va madhiyaning birinchi ommaviy ijrosi ertasi kuni 17 avgustda Respectable Hope Lodgeda boʻlib oʻtdi. Musiqa bir zumda muvaffaqiyat qozongan boʻlsa-da, turli xil tarixiy noaniqliklar mavjudligi uchun qoʻshiq matniga bir nechta eʼtirozlar bildirildi. 1897-yilda Prud’Homme bugungi kungacha saqlanib qolgan qayta koʻrib chiqilgan qoʻshiq matnlarini taqdim etdi.

1897-yil 7-iyunda Dominikan Respublikasi Kongressi asl musiqasi va qayta koʻrib chiqilgan soʻzlari bilan „Himno Nacional“ni mamlakatning rasmiy madhiyasi sifatida qabul qilish toʻgʻrisida qonun qabul qildi. Ammo, oʻsha paytdagi prezident Ulises Heureaux (1846-1898) bu aktga veto qoʻygan, chunki lirik muallif Prud’Xomm prezident va uning maʼmuriyatiga muxolif boʻlgan. 1899-yilda Ulises Heureaux o‘ldirildi va yuzaga kelgan siyosiy tartibsizliklar 1934-yilning 30-mayida „Himno Nacional“ rasman qabul qilinib, qonunga imzo chekilgunga qadar milliy madhiyaning qonuniy qabul qilinishiga to‘sqinlik qildi.

Dominikan Respublikasining ispancha nomi, „República Dominicana“, madhiyaning rasmiy ispancha soʻzlarida hech qachon ishlatilmaydi va Dominikanlarning asli „dominikanos“ emas. Toʻgʻrirogʻi, Hispaniola oroli uchun mahalliy „Quisqueya“ soʻzi ikki marta ishlatiladi va uning hosilasi demonimi „quisqueyanos“ bir marta ishlatiladi. Biroq, keyinchalik tadqiqotlar shuni koʻrsatdiki, bu soʻzlar asl Aravak Taino tilidan kelib chiqmaganga oʻxshaydi.
