Object history
Deutsch: Das Wappen wurde von der Gemeinde im Jahre 1902 auf Vorschlag des Generallandesarchivs angenommen. Es spiegelt die historischen Herrschaftsverhältnisse der Gemeinde wider. St. Blasien erhielt und erwarb sich im 12. und 13. Jahrhundert Besitz und Rechte im heutigen Gemeindegebiet und hatte die Grundherrschaft bis 1806 inne. Die Vogtei und damit die Landeshoheit über St. Blasien und seinen Besitz war seit der Mitte des 13. Jahrhunderts in der Hand der Habsburger. Als Untervögte fungierten die Herren von Staufen, die in ihrem Wappen in Blau drei (2:1) goldene Kelche (Staufe) mit Deckel führten. Die vordere Hälfte des Wappens greift auf dieses Adelswappen zurück, für die Tingierung dürften die badischen Farben Pate gestanden haben. Der goldene Hirsch in Blau ist das Wappen des Klosters St. Blasien.
