Deutsch: Bruchweiler verdankt seinen Namen der Lage im versumpften Wieslautertal (mittelhochdeutsch "bruoch" = Moorboden, Sumpf). Orte (Höfe) mit der Endung "wiler - wilari - wilre" wurden nur mit Billigung des Königs im sogenannten Königsland gegründet, was unserem heutigen "weiler" entspricht. Das Bestimmungswort mittelhochdeutsch "ber" entspricht dem neuhochdeutschen Bär). Der Bach gab dem Ort den Namen.
