Object history Die vordere Schildhälfte weist auf die Herren von Thüngfeld, die von 1399 bis 1524 die Dorfherrschaft innehatten. Die Herren von Crailsheim kauften 1524 den Ort. Daran erinnert ihr Wappen (in Schwarz ein goldener Balken) im Schildfuß. Ihr Wappen ist neben zahlreichen anderen Wappen in der Pfarrkirche zu sehen. Der Rost im hinteren Teil des Wappens ist das Attribut des heiligen Laurentius, dem die heute evangelische Pfarrkirche von Walsdorf geweiht war. Die Farben Schwarz und Gold sowie Silber und Rot weisen auf die beiden Hochstifte Bamberg und Würzburg hin. Die Herrschaftsgrenze der beiden Hochstifte verlief durch das Gemeindegebiet.
