Object history
Deutsch: Das von Christian Credner in Zusammenarbeit mit Manderscheider Bürgern entworfene Wappen wurde am 4. April 2011 durch die Kommunalaufsicht des Eifelkreises Bitburg-Prüm genehmigt. Die Farben Silber und Rot sind die Farben der Grafen von Vianden, denen seit dem 14. Jahrhundert die luxemburgischen Herrschaft Neuerburg und damit Manderscheid gehörte. Das schwarze Kreuz symbolisiert den Ortsteil Manderscheider Hof, das Mühlrad steht für den Ortsteil Heilhauser Mühle. Die Kiefer stellt Manderscheid (keltisch: mantara - Kiefer) als redendes Wappenbild dar.
English: The arms were granted on April 4, 2011. The colours gules and Argent are derived from the arms of the County of Vianden. The pine tree is canting for the name of the village. Cross and water wheel stand for the two parishes Manderscheider Hof and Heilhauser Mühle.
