Object history
Deutsch: Die Gemeinde Wasserlosen besteht seit 1978 aus den ehemals selbstständigen Gemeinden Brebersdorf, Burghausen, Gressthal, Kaisten, Rütschenhausen, Schwemmelsbach, Wasserlosen und Wülfershausen. Die Keule ist dem Wappen von Wasserlosen aus dem Jahr 1975 entnommen. Dieses leitete sich von einem Gerichtssiegel aus der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts mit der Darstellung der beiden Kirchenpatrone Simon und Judas ab. Die Keule ist das Attribut des Judas Thaddäus, dem zusammen mit Simon die Pfarrkirche von Wasserlosen geweiht ist. Der Wolf steht redend für den Ortsnamen Wülfershausen. Der Stern als Mariensymbol ist dem Wappen von Gressthal entnommen, das sich von einem alten Gerichtssiegel mit einer Mariendarstellung ableitete. Das Johanniterkreuz weist darauf hin, dass der Orden im Gemeindegebiet grundherrliche Rechte innehatte. Die achtfache Stückelung des Schildbords steht für die acht Orte. Die Farben Silber und Rot erinnern an die einstige Zugehörigkeit des Gemeindegebiets zum Hochstift Würzburg.
