Object history
Deutsch: Das Wappen wurde vom Heraldiker Walther Bergmann entworfen und der Gemeinde Rheurdt am 11. August 1970 durch den Regierungspräsidenten in Düsseldorf verliehen. Das Wappen verbindet die goldenen Äpfel des Rheurdter Pfarrpatrons St. Nikolaus mit der Legende des Schaephuysener Pfarrpatrons St. Hubertus. Die Farben Gold und Blau sind die alten geldrischen.
English: The arms were officially granted on August 11, 1970. They combined the old arms Rheurdt (apples) and Schaephuysen (stag´s head).
