Object history
Deutsch: Die Grundfarbe rot und der leopardierte Löwe sind Symbol und Farbe der Sayn-Wittgensteiner, die etwa 400 Jahre bei uns regierten.

Der Schrägbalken stellt die heutige B 8, früher "Alte Heerstrasse", die Hauptverbindung Köln - Frankfurt dar. Die vier Eicheln mit Frucht und Fruchtstand haben zweierlei Bedeutung: 1. Sie stellen die vier Ortsteile dar.

2. Sie sollen auf die, zumindest früher hauptsächlich landwirtschaftlichgeprägte Bevölkerung hinweisen (Eicheln Mast für Schweine etc. und auf den Waldreichtum hinweisen).
