Deutsch: Der Gemeinde ist mit Urkunde des Regierungspräsidenten in Münster vom 16.01.1970 das Recht zur Führung eines Wappens, eines Siegels und eines Ban-ners verliehen worden. „In gelb (gold) über einem doppelten, mit je 3 Fenstern und Spitzdach versehenen schwarzen Kirchenchor ein sechsblättriger grüner Stechpalmenzweig mit 11 (3:8) roten Beeren.“ Das von Waldemar Mallek ursprünglich und später weiter verwendete entworfene Wappen für die ehemalige Gemeinde Groß Reken zeigt die beiden Kirchenschiffe der Groß Rekener Wehrkirche unter einem Stechpalmenzweig, einem für die Gegend typischen Strauch.
English: „The arms were granted in 1965 to Gross Reken and to Reken on January 16, 1970. The lower part shows part of the church in Reken, with the typical architecture. The holly branch (Ilex) is a symbol for the woods in the area and is also canting for the village of Hülsten (holly = Hüls in the local dialect, hulst in Dutch, Stechpalme in German).“
