Deutsch: Das Wappen des Landkreises Kaiserslautern wurde am 14. Dezember 1959 vom rheinland-pfälzischen Innenministerium verliehen. Der Adler versinnbildlicht das Reichsland und den Reichswald um den Königshof Lutra aus der Salier- und Stauferzeit, der Löwe steht für die kurpfälzischen Gebiete und die silbernen Kugeln für die Freiherren von Sickingen, welche die frühere Zugehörigkeit des größten Teils des Kreises symbolisieren und der mit dem Fisch belegte Pfahl entstammt dem Wappen der 1920 kreisfrei gewordenen Stadt Kaiserslautern.
English: The arms were granted on December 14, 1959. The lion in the lower part is the lion of the Palatinate, as the district historically belonged to. The plates are taken from the arms of the Lords of Sickingen and stand for the Estate of Sickingen, now part of the district. The pale with the fish is taken from the arms of the city of Kaiserslautern. The chief symbolises the different Imperial estates in the early Middle Ages in the present district.
