Object history

Deutsch: Das von Walther Bergmann entworfene Wappen wurde am 8. Februar 1973 vom Regierungspräsidenten in Köln zuletzt genehmigt. Es ist das 1942 entworfene Wappen des Amtes Aldenhoven. Die Lilie steht für die ehemalige Gemeinde Aldenhoven, das Kreuz für Freialdenhoven und der Kranz für Siersdorf, die wiederum auf ehemalige Schöffensiegel zurückgehen. Die Lilie steht in dem Gebiet auch als Symbol für die Marienverehrung.
